Friday Night at the Track

Held at the "Bud Harris Cycling Track", Washington Boulevard 1/2 mile Cycling Track, Pittsburgh, PA

The Bud Harris Cycling Track, a half-mile oval loop along Washington Boulevard, is a one-of-a-kind attraction, drawing elite cyclists and beginners to its banked corners and slight hill. Formerly a drivers' training course, the facility accommodates track & time trials. The track's flat interior surface is used for kids inline skate, bikes, scooters.

Bud Harris worked with reps from government, racing assn, contractors to acquire and developed the Track and oversaw every detail of the project. City of Pittsburgh formally named the track in memory of lifelong Pittsburgh resident Bud Harris, the main force behind the track's construction 14 years ago.

 

Schedule (Subject to change at discretion of organizer): Events vary from 5 to 25 mile TT's on road bikes, Sprints, miss & outs, Points, Pursuit on Track bikes and ends with a Criterium.See race flyer for details of events held each night.

 

Registration: 6:00 pm. Start: 6:30 pm Entry $12, of which $5 per entry goes into prizes. Fees covers ABR sanction, insurance, city permit, city per-rider surcharge, officials.Categories: Open (3-5 places). Women (if 3 or more participants). Men 50+ (if 3 or more participants).
