VISION QUEST COACHING HOSTS MATTS INDOOR TIME TRIAL

Local indoor race series comes to Highland Park March 5

Chicago, IL (February 1, 2011)—Vision Quest Coaching is pleased to announce its indoor time trial happening at its Highland Park location on March 5. Part of the American Bicycle Racing 2011 Mid America Time Trial Series (MATTS) and ROTY - Rider of the Year.  The race is open to the public, especially cyclists and triathletes looking for casual competition in the off-season.  Riders will virtually race a 30-minute time trial on the 2011 Tour of California time trial course held in Solvang, CA. The first race begins at 10 a.m. at Vision Quest, located at 1923 Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park, adjacent to the Trek bicycle store.

WHAT: Vision Quest Coaching’s indoor time trial covers the 2011 Tour of California time trial course to be held in Solvang, CA.  The intense course includes a few rolling hills. The 30-minute time trial is part of the American Bicycle Racing 2011 Mid America Time Trial Series and utilizes the CompuTrainer system.
 
WHO: Cyclists and triathletes of all ages and abilities are invited to participate. Twenty-four riders will participate per start time, and awards will be calculated based on the number of miles covered in Junior; CAT 4/5; CAT 3 (men only); Open 1/2/3; and Masters age groups. MATTS custom medals will be awarded to the top 5 performers in each category, top 3 for juniors. Cash prizes are awarded to the three fastest men and women.

WHEN: On Saturday, March 5, 2011, race times begin at 10 a.m. and run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Vision Quest Highland Park, 1923 Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park, Ill.

HOW: Registration is now open and will close once all of the slots are filled. The entry fee costs $25 per race.
